FRENCH LANGUAGE PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN
The Alliance Française de Pittsburgh is pleased to announce French Level I Beginner Classes for students in grades two, three, four, five, and six. The program will begin Saturday, July 16 and run every Saturday through September 3 (except August 13) from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. (immediately prior to the Basic French for Travelers course). The classes will be taught by Denise Howell-Longello. Ms. Howell-Longello was a resident of France for 10 years and currently teaches at the Penn State Beaver Campus. Enrollment in the classes will be on a first come, first served basis.
The goal of the program is to give children a positive learning experience by using a fun-and-games approach to awaken their curiosity and interest in another language, its culture and its customs.
"Studies indicate that students with foreign language skills do better academically than those with no such skills." - New York Times
